AS WITH NATURE, we offer you thousands of custom colors. With so many colors, our customers often find color selection is the toughest decision for them. When it comes to this issue, we’ve heard it all, “The carpet should be darker than the walls,” “The carpet should be darker than the furniture,” and so on and so forth. There really are no set rules when it comes to carpet color selection.
You can put different colors in different rooms but again, keep in mind that the seams will be visible where the color changes occur. Many people forget this and are surprised at the contrast that can be seen when
moving from one room to another. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it is something to keep in mind. You definitely wouldn’t want a rapid succession of several color changes in a row.

New Carpet Color:
Benefits
A new carpet color can bring new room vitality. It becomes the foundation of good interior design when used in conjunction with an effective color scheme.
Set The Mood
Color is a subtle yet fundamental design element. When used properly it changes the room from a space to an experience. Color and harmony enhance the aesthetic and provide cohesion of design.
Color Themes:
The following are a few color themes influenced by nature. Try your hand at combining colors with real furniture and flooring and see the effect they might have on your room.

Calming, (complimentary cools)
Nothing calms the nerves like blues. A baby's room in light blue or a contemporary bathroom in smokey blue with stainless steel accents.

Tranquil (analogous, muted and neutral colors)
Tranquility is bestowed by muted hues. Neutrals, blues, greens and browns help to transition the outdoors in. A study, den or room in muted colors or a relaxed kitchen to be bathed in morning sun.

Vibrant (tertiary or triadic)
Colors that are intense or saturated create a feeling of excitement and energy. Perfect for an exercise or craft room.

Solid (chiaroscurro, neutrals)
Excellent for a coat room, sewing room, bathroom or bedroom. When you want that understated look or old cottage feeling.

Inviting (analogous, warms)
Excellent for a child's room, lobby, or retreat. Adorn this room with curtains, wicker, full-length carpet and handmade quilts to top it off. Brass accents help give the room a glow.
Since we are TRUE COLOR RESTORATION EXPERTS we can make virtually any color you want, restoring, matching a color, or creating a brand new color. If we recommend a color choice, it is usually for the benefit of you, the consumer, and/or the surface being colored.
Color Transparency of Carpet Dyes: All carpet is dyed before it is sold. Even “white carpet” is dyed. All carpet dyes are transparent in color and their final shade is affected by the color of the original carpet. Carpet Color Solutions technicians must be able to work with the dyes that are already in the carpet.
Primary Colors are Red, Blue, and Yellow
Secondary Colors are Violet, Green, and Orange
Tertiary Colors are Gray, Black, Rust, Brown and Gold
It is not possible to change secondary or tertiary colors into true primary colors, or to make colors lighter than their original state.
Not All Carpets Can Be Dyed! There are several tests that Carpet Color Solutions technicians can do to determine if your carpets are dyeable. Wool and nylon can be redyed. Olefin cannot. They each have their advantages and disadvantages. See Carpet Fibers and Materials.
EXAMPLES OF THE WAY
DYES BLEND TO FORM COLORS
Factors In Carpet Dyeing
- Polyesters and acrylics cannot be satisfactorily dyed.
- Carpets can be dyed several times, depending on the original carpet color and the subsequent dye colors applied.
- Dyeing does not hide dirt or grease.
- Any discolored stain present in the carpet should be treated appropriately and should not be removed by bleaching in order to begin with “fresh” fiber.
- Multi-colored carpets or variegated carpets can be dyed a new color but keep in mind, the results are still multi-colored or variegated.
Variegated Carpet:
The original factory color on the left is a variegated Gold and Yellow color, very outdated. The carpet is only a few years old and is still in excellent condition. Samples were dyed a variety of light shades, medium shades and dark shades. These are only a fraction of the possibilities.
